The Ice Gems Cheerleading Squad actively embrace The Racial Equality Charter for Sport

The charter is a public pledge, signed by the leaders of sport, committing them to use their influence to create a world of sport in which all people can take part without facing racial discrimination of any kind.

The signatories pledge to:

challenge and remove racial discrimination in sport

encourage people from all communities to become involved in sport

welcome employees and spectators from all communities, and protect all employees and spectators from racial abuse and harassment

encourage skilled and talented individuals from all communities to become involved in all levels of sports administration, management and coaching

develop the best possible racial equality policies and practices that are subject to regular review and update

celebrate cultural diversity in sport

Any sports organisation or organisation working in this area can sign the charter, in this the Ice Gems Cheerleading Squad provide equal opportunities to all its associates. This means:

1. We seek to ensure equality of opportunity for all persons. That no-one person or group of persons applying or are part of our squad will be treated less favourably than any other person or group of persons because of their race, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion, gender, physical disability, appearance, sexual orientation or marital status.

3. No person will be discriminated against because of a medical condition, provided that the condition does not prevent that person from carrying those tasks. Appropriate task will be sought in this case.

4. Support will be given to the victims of any kind of harassment. Establishing the perpetrator as a member of The Ice Gems ultimately could lead to the immediate suspension in part or in full or instant dismissal of that member. If Ice Gems members are harassed by associates of other squads or members of the public we can only advise the responsible person of their offense.
